As one of the experiments for Science Week we made Ooblek. Ooblek is a special substance that is liquid and can be poured but becomes solid when you put pressure on it. Ooblek is a non-Newtonian Fluid. It is also great fun to play with!

We have been doing a lot of work with magnets and this week we used a magnet to make a compass. We placed the magnet on some foam that was floating in a basin of water. The North Pole of the magnet pointed North straight away and no matter how many times we changed it around, it always turned towards the North. This is how a compass works.

Our tastiest experiment for Science Week was cooking pizza. We discovered that heating materials changes them in different ways. The heat brought out all the flavours and the cheese melted. Final result, a yummy slice of pizza. We have also been doing fractions so we revised halves, quarters and eighths.

We were all looking forward to our Halloween Fun Day and it turned out to be great fun for everyone. In the morning we paraded around the school and then watched as all the other classes parading around. In the afternoon we played Halloween games. We tried to bite an apple which was hanging up, not as easy as it looks! We made Chocolate Apples and also Chocolate Lollies. By Home Time we were ready for our Halloween Break!
